Overview and Map

Rocky Mountain Therapy Services has been providing services for over 25 years and the clinic in Montrose has been under its direction since 2007. We work with the area physicians to provide quality outcomes and education for patients. RMTS works with the total community: seniors, employers, student athletes, motor vehicle accident, workers compensation, injury and chronic pain patients. Currently, under the direction of Aaron Coon, DPT and a great support staff, the clinic has become a unique partner in the local medical community.   Aaron specializes in Manual therapy for the spine and extremities and enjoys treating back pain, shoulders, and knees.

The updated clinic is located on Apollo Road and is in close proximity to physicians and employers.  The facility offers a comfortable and warm atmosphere for our patient’s recovery from an injury or surgery.

Out and About in Our Community

A couple of our staff, Aaron and Jessica, went to Cerise Park to teach a class about Walking Poles. This was offered thru the National MS Society. This program offered community members with MS to learn how to utilize walking poles for everyday use. It was a fun program to teach and they are looking forward to teaching it again!

Our Team

Clinic Director: Aaron Coon, DPT

Aaron grew up in Cache Valley, Utah, with 5 sisters. At 20 years old, he sustained injuries in a car accident and underwent Physical Therapy. During his recovery and treatment he developed an interest in the anatomy of his injury and the healing process. He finished his undergraduate at Utah State University and then earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at St. Augustine University in Florida. He completed internships at Cedar City Hospital and Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas. His last internship was in an outpatient clinic at Rocky Mountain Therapy at West Valley, UT.

He was genuinely excited with his move to Montrose. He is a manual therapist who loves using his hands, working with the cervical and lumbar spine to improve his patients function getting them back to their hobbies. He is also certified in Dry Needling, which is a great adjunct to his manual skill. He has found it a wonderful place for spending time with his young family, hiking 14ers, camping, and snowboarding.

Madison Ryan, PT, DPT

Madison completed her undergrad degree in Kinesiology from Miami of Ohio. Next, she attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA and graduated in May of 2017 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. She has been working at RMTS for a year and is loving it. Madison was born and raised in Marietta, GA, but has had many years of ski trips out to Crested Butte. Recently engaged, Madison and her fiancé enjoy hiking with their dog named Butte, in addition to skiing, running, playing soccer, and cooking. She loves treating shoulders and knees, orthopedic injuries, and sports rehab. Eventually Madison would like to work towards getting her Manual Therapy Certification as she believes in always wanting to better herself and her profession.

Anna Thompson, PTA

Anna graduated in May of 2017 with her Associates of Applied Science Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Arapahoe Community College and has been with Rocky Mountain Therapy Services in Montrose ever since. Anna is also certified in cupping. Cupping is beneficial for myofascial release, breaking up scar tissue, and reducing lymph edema. Anna was born and raised in Montrose, CO and is excited to be back serving the community she grew up in. In her spare time, Anna enjoys playing competitive volleyball, playing disc golf, camping, hiking, and dancing. Anna loves treating the extremities, such as shoulders and knees, and has a particular love for sports injuries and working with athletes.
